Growing up in the shadow of Mount Rinjani, we’ve always had a deep respect for the mountain — not just as a natural wonder, but as a sacred symbol in our Sasak culture. Many of us began our journeys as porters, carrying supplies up the steep trails for other trekking companies. Over the years, we gained firsthand experience of what makes a trek meaningful — and what often gets overlooked.
In 2016, we decided to start Suni Rinjani with a mission to do things differently:
